You can link each entry in the Species Register to an internet reference resource. This gives you the flexibility to bookmark a webpage of your choice as a source of information on each species. With an internet based reference, you’re not tied to a static species reference that may or may not meet your needs. An internet based reference is more likely to be up to date. You can always link to another website, if you find a better one for that species. You can also add your own comments in the Notes field.
To Create an Internet Reference:
1) Click the Image button cell, or press the SPACE BAR when the Image button cell is the selected, to open the Internet Reference URL window.
2) Use your web browser to select an internet resource to use as a reference.
3) Copy and paste the address of an internet page you have chosen into the Internet Address (URL) field of the Internet Reference URL window.
4) Press the OK button to close the window. When you move off the row and the row is saved, the Internet URL cell's LED will turn blue to indicate a saved reference is available for this entry.
To view a saved Internet Reference :
1) Click the Image button cell, or press the SPACE BAR when the Image button cell is the selected, to open the Internet Reference URL window.
